Faridabad Doctor’s House Explosives: J-K Police Busts Transnational Terror Module
In a major counter-terror operation, security agencies uncovered a transnational terror module after discovering explosives at a doctor’s house in Faridabad. The investigation, sparked by Jammu and Kashmir (J-K) Police probing suspicious posters in Srinagar, exposed a Pakistan-linked terror network planning attacks in India.
Explosives Found in Faridabad Doctor’s Home
The breakthrough came after J-K Police intercepted anti-India posters in Srinagar calling for a “resistance movement.” Intelligence led them to Dr. Aftab Alam (name changed), a Faridabad-based doctor whose home was raided. Authorities recovered:
- Grenades & detonators
- Ammonium nitrate (IED ingredient)
- Electronic devices with encrypted data
Sources say Alam was under surveillance for months, suspected of providing logistical support to terror operatives. Initial interrogations suggest he was part of a larger network funneling explosives and funds across India.
Pakistan-Linked Terror Module Exposed
The NIA and J-K Police traced the module’s operations beyond India, finding links to Pakistan-based handlers. The group allegedly used:
✔ Encrypted messaging apps
✔ Dark web platforms
✔ Social media for recruitment & propaganda
A senior NIA official stated, “This was a well-organized module planning high-impact attacks in J-K and Delhi-NCR.”
How Posters Led to the Bust
The case began with inflammatory posters in Srinagar, traced to an overground worker (OGW) who aided the network. The OGW allegedly transported funds and instructions between handlers and operatives.
Security experts warn that such propaganda aims to radicalize youth and fuel unrest. “Posters are psychological tools to incite fear,” said a counter-terror analyst.
Security Alert: Sleeper Cells in Urban Areas?
The bust has raised concerns about sleeper cells in cities like Faridabad, near Delhi. Terror groups are increasingly recruiting professionals (doctors, engineers) to evade detection.
The Home Ministry has called for:
🔹 Tighter digital surveillance
🔹 Better interstate agency coordination
Next Steps in the Investigation
The NIA will take over the case due to its international dimensions. Security has been beefed up in J-K with:
- Drone surveillance
- Additional checkpoints
The big question: Are more such modules active in India? Authorities remain on high alert.
