Two police officers have been suspended in connection with the shocking murder of Dularchand Yadav in Mokama, Bihar. The incident has triggered public outrage, with locals accusing authorities of negligence and demanding swift justice.
Dularchand Yadav’s Killing: A Broad Daylight Attack
Dularchand Yadav, a resident with alleged political links, was shot dead near his home in Mokama. Eyewitnesses reported unidentified attackers firing at Yadav, who later died en route to the hospital.
Mokama, notorious for gang violence and political feuds, has seen rising crime, with residents blaming weak policing and political backing for criminals.
Why Were the Cops Suspended?
Sub-Inspector Ramesh Kumar and Constable Vijay Singh were suspended for failing to act on prior threats to Yadav’s life. A senior officer confirmed a departmental inquiry, stating:
“The officers neglected duty. Strong action will follow if more lapses are found.”
Critics argue suspensions aren’t enough, urging a high-level probe into possible larger conspiracies.
Political Fallout and Public Anger
Yadav’s family alleges a rival political group was behind the murder. Opposition leaders, including BJP’s Nikhil Anand, criticized Bihar’s government:
“Criminals roam freely under this administration.”
JD(U) leaders, however, promised justice, with Mokama MLA Anant Singh denying political involvement.
CID Takes Over, Protests Erupt
The case is now with Bihar’s Crime Investigation Department (CID). Locals, unconvinced, blocked roads demanding arrests. A protester said:
“We’ll fight until justice is served.”
