PM Modi, Sachin Tendulkar, Aishwarya Rai Grace Sai Baba’s Centenary Event
In a historic gathering, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, and Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan joined thousands of devotees in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The spiritual leader’s legacy of love, service, and universal harmony was honored at the Sri Sathya Sai Hill View Stadium, organized by the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust.
PM Modi’s Tribute to Sai Baba’s Vision
In his keynote address, PM Modi highlighted Sai Baba’s philosophy of “Manava Seva Madhava Seva” (Service to Humanity is Service to God). He praised the guru’s contributions to education and healthcare, including the Sri Sathya Sai Institutes of Higher Learning and free Super Specialty Hospitals.
“His life was a message of unity and selflessness—a guiding light for India’s youth,” Modi said, urging citizens to embrace seva (service) as a way of life.
Sachin Tendulkar’s Emotional Reflection
Sachin Tendulkar, a lifelong devotee, shared how Sai Baba’s blessings shaped his career. “His words—’Play for the country with honesty’—stayed with me,” he recalled. Tendulkar also lauded the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals for providing free cardiac care to children.
Aishwarya Rai’s Spiritual Connection
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, accompanied by her mother Vrinda Rai, paid homage to Sai Baba’s teachings. “His divine presence taught us humility and love,” she said, reflecting on his impact on her spiritual journey.
Global Devotees and Future Initiatives
The event featured bhajans, meditation sessions, and announcements of a Digital Museum to preserve Sai Baba’s legacy. The Trust also showcased ongoing projects like free education and drinking water initiatives in rural areas.

As the celebrations concluded with chants of “Sai Ram”, the event reaffirmed Sai Baba’s timeless message of universal love and service.
